Good and bad ads

As a good ad i chose the advertising picture for Sarah Jessica Parkers new fragrance Covet. I know its good beacuse me myself even wants to buy it. The idea whit the huge bottle is just great because even if you know its not that big in real life, it still gives you that illusion. About Jessica, she is as you might know one of the actors in Sex and the City, which attracts women in every agegroup. why? She has style, money, beauty and integrety. Which is why every woman wants to be her. I like the whole picture and the idea that she is so "desperate" for the perfume that she actully broke a window to get it, its just a really great ad.

I think this is a bad ad because it doesent really tell me anything, this was placed in a subwaystation in germany. First of all how many germans speak english? right none. And to whom does this ad appeal to. i would guess 50-60 year old men which is a small targetgroup. When it comes to the picture, its just boring. The canarias is beautiful and you could have put in a much more intersting picture then this one, maybe even three or four pictures
that would appeal to more people. Then the slogan which i dont really get. According to my opinion this is a bad ad.

Advertising campaign

I did a advertising campaign for Vitamine Wells products, i chose to target people between 20 and 35 and to make a simple approach by making simple ads that is reflecting the health hysteria that exist right now. About the placement, my idea was to put up these ads on most the busstops and subwaystations, these places are crucial for the cutomers this product wants to reach. Because most often are people that travels green also healthy. But one thing you have to remember about subways and busstops is that people often are in a rush at those places and thats why you have to make it easy and short, so that people quick can pick up what you want to say. But i also wanted it to be memorable and thats why i chose to put a needle in one of the ads.
Now when it has been so much hype around the new flue and vaccinations i felt that it would really catch their attention. Last of all i wanted to put out stations with free samples, mostley at shopping malls and subway stations, so people could get a free healtshot and try out the different flavours. So we could have a very small budget by not giving them whole bottles.

Sex in advertising

1. Coca cola Zero, Porsche carrero and wood.

2. Coca Cola Zero: White young men between 15 to 25 years old living in this typical american culture, not rich but not poor either. For the avrige man.

Porsche: White men in the age between 30 to 60, Europeans that lives an over avrage life with high social and economic status.

Wood: Men of any color in the age between 25 and 60, living in houses and are a bit handy, Normal economic status and social level.

3. Coca Cola Zero: Simply that things will work out like it "should be" and that you will get cooler, have more status and get girls./obvius

Porsche: That you will get hoter and have more status with the car. (maybe girls will flash for you)/not so obvius

Wood: Its just so you can associate boring wood with big breasts./obvious

4. Beacuse i am a woman and the ads isen´t really targeting me i dont find it beliveble.
I do think thats some of them is good ads from a buisseniss point of view. But i actully think that the ads are working on there targets, just because thats what there designed for.

5. Coca Cola: Physical
Porsche: Physical
Wood: Physical

6. Coca Cola: I absolutly i hate this commercial if im seeing it from a personal point of view and that is my inner feminist talking. This guy is breaking up with hes girlfriend who is sitting in this big sweather and dont understand what he wants to say. And so this guy is drinking Coca Cola Zero an suddenly the diner becomes like a strip club and hes girlfriend says so you want to break up, its okay call me when you want to shag. Its totally sexistic when this guy breaks up with the woman with clothes to be with thw womans with no clothes. But my business mind just simply says, It sells, because it does./Negative

Porsche: I cant really se so much negative in this, the only thing i can really call negative is why a woman would flash to a car its funny tought but really, how many woman is dressed in only underwear in fall with just a jacket and flash to things. because all these commercials are just bringing more air to mens fantasy world how womens are. Healty, no. Does it sell? Yes

Wood: Cant really say so much about this commercial the woman looks pritty ordinary, just a woman with big boobs who is laying a floor. i think its pritty postive that she doesent look so plastic atleast.

1. Coca Cola Zero: Shes sitting on a diner with her boyfriend.
Porsche. Shes flashing to a car.
Wood: laying a floor.

2. Coca Cola Zero: He is sitting with his girlfriend on the diner, trying to break up with her.
Porsche. No man.
Wood: No man.

3.The Couple
The woman whos walking down the ally.
The womans breast.

4.Naked girls in underwear dancing
The porsche and the ally
Nobody just her sitting in what looks like a living room.

5.No meaning
No meaning
Well he whole commercial is focusing on her breasts so, associatons again maby.

6."If you drink Coca Cola Zero you will get laid"
"If you buy Porche girl might flash to you"
"If you buy wood from us you might get to see breasts."

To Kyle

1. Now when people can read there newspapers online without paying for it, a cirkle has begun.
A cirkle which going to change the Advertising and newspaper business for good. The deal between Advertising companies And the newspapers has always been that the Advertising company or other small business pays to get there ads seen in newspapers. What happends when everything goes online is that those companies who are advertising in ordinary newpapers no longer se sees a profit in it. They rather do there ads online where they dont have to pay as much and can target their buyers much more easily. But the thing with online newspapers is that its free and the newspapers might not get the same profit as they did when people actully bought there news and after that the newspaper is not going to afford to pay for hard journalism, like stories that has to be worked on by journalists for a longer time. Like i said a cirkle has begun, but is this cirkle going to change the great art of good journalism for good? Only time can tell.

2. When the advertisers nolonger have to appear in bundles to be seen, the structure of the newspaper falls apart. A newspaper is built up in such way that the reader have to go through a bunch of ads and small articles to get to the "good stuff" the major article which most likely will appear in the middle of the newspaper. When everything is moved online, and magazines have search engines on there hompage. People can find what they want to read direct instead of flipping through a whole newspaper to find it. The article nolonger belongs to some newspaper, It stands for it self.

3. Now when the news and ads have moved and changed, so has the articles. Often advertisers choose to put there ad next to an article that gives good associations and draws the right clients.
Even if an article about murder or corruption draws many readers, it still doesent give good associations. Which means that it is going to be worthless to an ad company. While maybe a smaller article like one with the title "Swedish people sleep bad, big health problem" will draw major ads for example beds.

But i think that the biggest problem is if this goes to far. It will end with that the newspapers and journalist´s will loose there real jobs, which is to report important events and to function as a medium between the official and the unofficial. But if this cirkle goes to far. The heritage of the journalism is going to be long gone in a near future, lost in all the ads.
